Applications to become a mentor and/or a mentee for AAACC's 2023-2024 mentorship program are now open! The AAACC mentorship program connects classicists of different professional stages and trajectories to create mutually beneficial professional relationships as well as to foster a more interconnected and supportive community.

The mission of the mentorship program is to promote the professional and personal growth of classicists who identify as Asian (Asian, Asian American, East Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, Pacific Islander, mixed-heritage, etc.) and to contribute to the diversification of the field; however, the program is also open to non-Asian-identifying POC. Although our program and its network are primarily Asian-identified, if you are a POC mentor or mentee who would like to participate, we will do our best to find you a match.

How it works: The AAACC mentorship program runs annually. At the beginning of each academic semester year, mentors and mentees will be matched based on your completed applications. Mentors and mentees are expected to connect (virtually) at least twice a semester, with the first meeting including goals and expectations setting. Overall, the program is flexible and is meant to be designed by each mentor and mentee pair. There are no qualifications to be either a mentor or a mentee.

There will be community-oriented programming throughout the year so that fellow mentors and mentees can get to know each other.
